All the other trails were ok.
Great area of trees and water for red-shouldered Hawks, Northern harriers, and kinglets. However there are no notices about the past being underwater so don't go unless you have a pair of ankle high boots to go with you, unless you want your sneakers to be very cold and wet.
Probably not the place to go on a hot summer day.
The gates were locked.
Very nice to walk around (not too tough of terrain) could use a little better signs on the trail and a little more work to be done to designate the trails but considering it's only been open about a year and was flooded out from a hurricane shortly after opening you can't really fault whoever is in charge of caring for the park.
Encountered one trail that was extremly muddy.
Parked outside gates and went for a walk.
Very much a swamp area.
Other folks did the same.
BRING BUG SPRAY - I'm visiting from out of town and I always look for a park to walk when traveling. I would have really enjoyed this one if I had bug spray and waterproof shoes. The park is located in a marshy area and is susceptible to slight flooding. I would have really enjoyed walking on the natural wooded trail. Maybe next time.
No sign saying park was closed.
Hiking trails, picnic shelter, seating available scattered about , a boardwalk, observation deck and boardwalk, bike trail and 9-hole disc golf course. Great views of River, swamp and surrounding woodlands.
